History

Since 1967 The Corpus Christi Geological Library has been serving the oil and gas industry in South Texas. We have merged with three out of seven original libraries to become who we are today. Through the years we merged with Bahia log library, Santa Fe Log Library, Geological Information Services, and Oil Industries log Library. We have provided the industry with essential information for its professionals. Whether geologists, geophysicists, engineers, landmen, or any interested person, the library continues to provide historical and current data that is necessary for oil, gas, and uranium exploration.

• 1967 organized and located in the Wilson Building
• 1975 moved to First City Bank Tower (now Wells Fargo Tower)
• 1983 moved to First City Tower II
• 1987 moved back to Wilson Building (now Wilson Plaza North)


• 1989 expanded and merged with Santa Fe Log Library
• 1994 expanded and merged with Bahia Log Library and Geological Information Services


• 2001 acquired all files of Scouting Cooperative of Independent Geologists (SCOOP) all SCOOP forms (1973-present) and original Superior scout tickets (1930’s-1973)
